Welcome to Cedar County Library
Cedar County Library two branches: the Geneva Sharp Library/Branch in Stockton, MO and the John D. Smith Library/El Dorado Springs Branch in El Dorado Springs, MO. It has best sellers, local genealogy, fax services, copiers, public access computers, and Wi-Fi.
CLOSINGS: The Library will be closed Thursday, May 5, and Friday, May 6 for software updates. The Library will also be closed Monday, May 30 in observance of Memorial Day.
HELP WANTED: Cedar County Library is seeking part-time help for the summer. The successful candidate must be proficient in computer skills. The person must also be able to work at either branch on any day. Applications can be picked up at either branch during regular business hours. GRANTS: Cedar County Library was awarded to grants from the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the auspices of the Missouri State Library. One grant is the Racing to Read which provides books and early literacy help to families. The other grant replaces our XP operating system training computers with 4 new laptops with Windows 10. These are available now for self-guided tutorials on Windows 10.
OPEN LAB ON THE NEW LAPTOPS: The Open Lab for Stockton will be every Wednesday 3-4 pm, and at El Dorado every Thursday from 3-4 pm. These computers will be available for use on the many tutorials at the Goodwill Foundation website.
FISHING POLES AND TACKLE BOXES: In cooperation with the Missouri Department of Conservation, the Stockton Branch has fishing poles and tackle boxes to check out like any other library material. We have taken three fishing poles and three tackle boxes to the El Dorado Springs Branch for checkout.
