Welcome to Cedar County Library

Cedar County Library two branches: the Geneva Sharp Library/Branch  in Stockton, MO and the John D. Smith Library/El Dorado Springs Branch in El Dorado Springs, MO.  It has best sellers, local genealogy, fax services, copiers, public access computers, and Wi-Fi.
IMPORTANT SURVEY:  This year our state governor has withheld $12,000 from our funding process. The Cedar County Library Board is expecting even less state funds in 2015 (possibly as much as $35,000) than we have received in 2014. As we are in the process of deciding what services are best used and what services may not be as important to offer, please complete the survey enclosed in the paper, mailed to you, or you have picked up in the library and return it to either branch by November 30, 2014.

HOLIDAY CLOSING:  Both branches will be closed on Thursday, November 27 for Thanksgiving.

FOOD FOR FINES:  will begin Monday November 17 and end Monday December 22.  A dollar will be taken off the fine for each non-perishable food item or paper goods donated.  The items will be used in our communities.

FISHING POLES AND TACKLE BOXES:  In cooperation with the Missouri Department of Conservation, the Stockton Branch has fishing poles and tackle boxes to check out like any other library material.

STORYTIME AT EL DORADO SPRINGS: Friday, December 19  at 10 am!

FREE MOVIES:  Ozark Shorts has been suspended for the winter, but will resume in the spring.

GED CLASSES:  The GED or HiSet classes will begin Wednesday, September 3 from 9:30 to 12:30 at the Stockton Branch.
